我们知道，一般的名词所有格，如果是单数名词，就在名词词尾加“s”表示如Toms（汤姆的）；如果是以s结尾的复数名词，则在s右上角加即可，即s，如students（学生们的）。那么，表示两个人的名词所有格，怎么表示呢？有两种情况：
（一）如果表示某物或人属于两人共有，则用“（A and B）s”表示。如：
This is Ann and Kates bedroom.这是安和凯特二人的房间。
（二）如果表示两个人各自的物品或人，则用“（As and Bs）”表示。如：
These are Kates and Mikes bikes.这些是凯特和迈克的自行车。

3．man，woman修饰单数名词时，用单数形式，修饰复数名词时要用复数形式。
所有格作定语时，也有三种情况：
1．名词
-S，一般表示有生命的名词，但现代英语中的时间、地点名词也可有这种用法；
2．of 名词，一般表示没有生命的名词；
3．of 名词
-S一般表示有生命的名词。

4）与单复数名词通用 ——序数词和通用序数词（the first/second、 the last、the )
如:my first book was published last year.

5)与单数名词和不可数名词通用的搭配（指示代词this、that）
